Academic Program
The relationship between FIL and the University of Guadalajara bears its most valuable fruit in the academic program that is presented, considered now as one of the most important venues for the reflection, analysis and development of knowledge in Latin America. Each year the Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Guadalajara holds a series of encounters and seminars that bring together the most outstanding professors, research-ers, as well as national and international intellectuals. Felipe González, Theotonio Dos Santos, Baltazar Garzón, Carlos Castresana, Juan Luis Cebrián, José Sarney, Luis González y González, Enrique Krauze, Pablo González Casanova, Jorge Castańeda, Adolfo Castańón, Fidel Castro Díaz Balart, Carlos Monsiváis and Miguel Ángel Granados Chapa are among the many thinkers who have enriched this program with their contributions.
Through a series of different activities, attended by more than 12,000 people every year, an exchange takes place in which the issues of contemporary life are discussed and the dialogue between different viewpoints is encouraged. The academic program, made up of twenty forums around different subjects, is carried out in various formats, including lectures, colloquiums, workshops, and round tables.

- International Social Science Conference

It is a required event for the discussion and analysis
of current developments in the fields of sociology, history, economy, and anthropology.
- Colloquium on Communication, Sports and Society
(17th edition)
The analysis of cultural and sports trends in the setting of the many interactions that define a world in the process of an increased globalization is the focus of this meeting, in which interdisciplinary dialogue and debate are encouraged.
- International Seminar on Foreign Language Teaching
(16th edition)
A space for discussion and reflection on the teaching and learning of foreign languages in the fields of science, technology, and education.
- International Conference on Open and Long-Distance Learning
(15th edition)
Lectures, workshops, and round tables are all part of this conference, which is directed to an audience interested in the development and use of alternative methods and new teaching materials.
- International Business Panel
(12th edition)
The Center for Economic-Management Sciences of the University of Guadalajara invites managers and directors of public and private institutions to take part in this forum.

- History Colloquium
(10th edition)
History as a science that can offer answers to the problems of modern life
is the focus of this encounter, in which well-known Mexican and international historians participate.
- International Forum on Educational Research
(9th edition)
Organized by the Department of Educational Studies of the University
of Guadalajara, in collaboration with the Mexican Council of Educational Re-search, this event provides a venue to analyze new trends of research in education.
- International Communication and Society Seminar
(10th edition)
This forum invites communication re-searchers and professionals to discuss the influence of the communication media on 21st century society.
- International Meeting of Lawyers
(10th edition)
Since its beginning, this forum has kept an international
perspective on the teach-ing, research, and challenges
arising from the defense of human rights, electoral
processes, and the environment.
- Gender Studies Forum
(8th edition)
Sexual and reproductive rights and the networks that promote their defense are discussed in this forum from the perspec-tive of gender studies.
