Between a manuscript and the reader is a talented editor: some editors have even left their imprint on books and collections that would influence generations to come. The Publishing Merit Award was created by FIL to honor Argentinean editor Arnaldo Orfila Reynal who was the director of Fondo de Cultura Económica and the founder of Siglo XXI Editores and with the aim of highlighting the vision and the craft of this key figure in the world of books.
