Training for professionals´

Opening Paths and Breaking Barriers for Brazilian Books and Literature in the U.S.

We will explore the initiatives that are paving the way and breaking barriers for the dissemination of Brazilian literature in the United States. We will examine how the buying and selling of author rights for works in Portuguese are crucial for spreading culture, alongside the distribution of books in this language to libraries in the U.S. and the counterpart efforts that bring successful authors and their works to be translated into Portuguese for entry into the Brazilian market. These initiatives are bridging Brazil's rich cultural heritage with a broader audience. Additionally, we will discuss the challenges and opportunities that arise in this process, highlighting success stories and innovative strategies that are transforming the literary landscape in both countries.
