Annual International Translation and Interpretation Conference “San Jerónimo”

Translation and interpreting: a meeting point

In 2023, the annual conference of the Organización Mexicana de Traductores (OMT) returns to FIL. Sessions and workshops will take place on November 25, 26 and 27, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, welcoming OMT members as well as the professional community of translators and interpreters.

The conference’s central theme for 2023 is “Translation and interpreting: a meeting point”, and the conference’s program will cover topics in varied fields, such as translation and interculturality; the training of government certified translators and quality standards; translation collectives; localization; translation agreements between translators and clients; legal interpreting in indigenous languages; differences and similarities in oral languages interpreting and sign language interpreting; cuisine and food translation; and a session to present OMT’s ethics code of conduct.
