Guest of Honor
Being an Honored Guest of the FIL means having access to one of the most important cultural windows in Ibero-America. Through letters, theater, music, plastic arts or cinema, the Guest strengthens his ties with the region and presents to a demanding and receptive audience the best of his current production.
The stellar activities of the Guest of Honor take place at the fairgrounds, where literary forums, commercial meetings of the publishing industry are held, and on each of the nine nights of the FIL a free concert is offered in front of an average of four thousand people. Its presence, however, extends to museums, cultural centers and galleries throughout the city, which transforms the celebration of the book into a party that encompasses multiple spaces and attracts audiences of diverse social composition.
The participation agreement of the Guest of Honor, which is signed at the governmental level, contemplates the establishment of a delegation in which writers, editors, researchers and artists who become spokespersons of their culture, in the bridge that opens the door to an exchange of exceptional quality, which lays the foundations to strengthen and update the relationship with it.
