Readers Present
With the purpose of lending readers a voice and bringing them closer to books, 2003 witnessed the birth of the reading promotion program Readers Present. Spanish writer Rosa Montero, with her book The Crazed Woman Inside Me (La loca de la casa), was the first author who joined the program, and to date has counted with the participation of over 70 authors.
They are enthusiasts with different profiles: housewives, students, professionals, etc., summoned randomly by FIL to read the books beforehand. A title suitable for all audience, an author willing to chat with his or her readers and a publishing house open to creative ways of presenting its literary novelties are the main ingredients of the program.
The result of this simple blend is a presentation where the public can feel strongly identified with the presenters, common readers as them, who also become the best promoters of the book.
