Ada Salas

Invitado de Honor

(Cáceres, 1965) studied Hispanic Philology at the Universidad de Extremadura. She has taught courses, workshops, seminars and conferences at centers such as Institutos Cervantes, Fundación Juan March, La Casa Encendida, Fundación Centro de Poesía José Hierro, and at book fairs, including in Guadalajara and Frankfurt.

She has published, among others, the books of poetry: Arte y memoria del inocente (1988, Universidad de Extremadura, Juan Manuel Rozas Award); Variaciones en blanco (1994, Hiperión, Hiperión Award); Esto no es el silencio (2008, Hiperión, Ciudad de Córdoba Award); No duerme el animal (2009, Hiperión), which contained almost all of her work until then; Descendimiento (2018, Pre-Textos) and Arqueologías (2022, Pre-Textos). In collaboration with photographer Tete Alejandre, she published Reflecjos (2006), and with painter Jesús Placencia, Ashes to Ashes (2011, Editora Regional de Extremadura) and Diez Mandamientos (2016, La Oficina de Arte y Ediciones). In 2021, Criba (Pezsilver editions) appeared, bringing together poems with artwork by Laura Lio.

The Escribir y borrar anthology (2016, Fondo de Cultura Económica) includes a selection of her essays, such as: Alguien aquí. Notas acerca de la escritura poética (2005, Hiperión); El margen. El error. La tachadura (De la metáfora y otros asuntos más o menos poéticos) (2011, Diputación de Badajoz, Premio de Ensayo Fernando Pérez) and Lengua del alma (2019, Fundación Juan March).

In 2021, she premiered Descendimiento at the Teatro de la Abadía in Madrid, directed by Carlos Marquerie, with music by Niño de Elche.

In 2019, she received the Medal of Extremadura for her career.

Together with Juan Abeleira, she translated A la misteriosa y Las tinieblas by Robert Desnos (Hiperión).

La sed, Lugar de la derrota and Esto no es el silencio have been translated into Swedish, Descendimiento into German, and Arqueologías into Italian.

Jorge Ortega

Mexican poet and essayist. PhD in Hispanic philology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he obtained the grade of Outstanding cum laude with a thesis on surrealist poetry in Latin America. Since 1992 he has published more than fifteen poetry titles in Mexico, Argentina, Spain, the United States, Canada and Italy, among which are Ajedrez de polvo (2003), Estado del tiempo (2005), Devoción por la piedra (2011, 2016), Guía de forasteros (2014) and Hotel del Universo (2023). His poetic work has been translated into English, Mandarin, German, Portuguese, French and Italian, and has been included in multiple compilations of contemporary Mexican poetry. He has also collaborated with poems, reviews and critical texts on poetry in various magazines in Latin America, such as Buenos Aires Poetry, Letras Libres, Periódico de Poesía, Quimera and Revista de Occidente, as well as in others of the Anglo-Saxon world: Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, World Literature Today, Poetry International and International Poetry Review. Also, he has participated in literature congresses and poetry festivals in various cities in America, Europe and Asia, and he has worked as a visiting professor at different universities in California. In 2000 and 2002 he was a fellow in the poetry specialty of the Young Creators program of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, a call and institution in which he was a poetry tutor during the period 2018-2019. He coordinated the nineteenth and twentieth-century literature volume of the series El patrimonio histórico y cultural de México (1810-2010) printed in 2013 for the Mexican Library collection of the Ministry of Culture. His book Dévotion pour la pierre was published in Quebec in 2018 at the house Les Éditions de La Grenouillère in the French version by Françoise Roy. His bilingual Spanish-Italian poetry anthology Luce sotto le pietre, which the Edizoni Fili d Aquilone label prepared from his work, appeared in 2020 in Rome, Italy, translated by Alessio Brandolini. Among other recognitions, he has won the Baja California State Literature Awards, the Tijuana National Poetry Award, the Jaime Sabines International Poetry Award and the Gilberto Owen National Literature Award. He is currently part of the National System of Art Creators of Mexico.

Gabrielle Etcheverry

(Chile/Canadá, 1946)

Gabrielle Etcheverry, PhD, serves as Deputy Executive Director of Livres Canada Books, a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to support Canadian-owned book publishers in their export sales activities and in developing international partnerships. An experienced international communications and outreach professional, she holds over a decade of expertise in various fields of communications and in engaging diverse stakeholder communities and audiences. Gabrielle has previously taught university courses on Canadian and Latin American cultures and communications and has also worked as a Spanish-English translator and editor. 

Pilar Londoño

(Colombia, 1979)

Colombian editor born in Bogotá. Social communicator and editor from the Javeriana University with studies in Art History at the Sorbonne University. She has been linked to both the public and private sectors, and has more than two decades of experience as a literature editor in prominent publishing houses in the country and abroad. She has translated some universal classics from English and French, and has been a jury member for numerous awards and works of literary creation. She is currently the Cultural Director of the Bogotá International Book Fair, FILBo.

Claudia Neira Bermúdez

(Nicaragua) She has been the director of the Centroamérica Cuenta Festival since 2015, where she also coordinates content curation. She combines her cultural management work with her experience in strategic communication and public relations.

Previously, she worked as an editor in media outlets in Nicaragua and as a communication expert in the United States and Nicaragua, where she founded Crea Comunicaciones in 2005. She has a Master's in Strategic Communication and Public Relations from Marshall University in West Virginia, United States. She is a fellow of the fifth class of the Central American Leadership Initiative (CALI), affiliated with the Aspen Institute. She has been a mentor with Vital Voices and has participated in various cultural, business, and leadership initiatives in Central America.

She is a Nicaraguan born in Brazil of a Peruvian father and Nicaraguan mother. She has lived in Madrid since 2022.

Ingrid Bejerman

Journalist, teacher and cultural manager, specialist in reporting on Latin American issues and the teaching and institutionalization of journalism. She worked as a journalist and columnist for the Brazilian newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo; as program coordinator for the Foundation for New Ibero-American Journalism (FNPI) in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, and as director of the Julio Cortázar Latin American Chair, at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Since 2002 she has been part of the programming committee of Blue Metropolis, the International Literary Festival of Montreal, where she is in charge of curating events in Spanish and Portuguese. She has a PhD in communication studies from McGill and teaches research, theory and journalistic practice at Concordia, both universities in Montreal, Canada.

Natasha Kanapé Fontaine

Natasha is an Innu writer, poet and interdisciplinary artist from Pessamit, on the Nitassinan (North Shore, Quebec). She lives in Tio’tia:ke, known as Montreal. Her critically acclaimed poetry and essays are widely taught and have been translated into several languages. In 2017, she received the Rights and Freedoms Award for her poetry and contribution to bringing people closer through art, writing, performance, dialogue, respect, and cultural exchange. In 2021, she received the Chevalier de l’Ordre des arts et des lettres de la République française. She also works as a translator, screenwriter, sensitivity reader, and consultant on Indigenous literature.

Yayo Herrero

(1965) Herrero has a PhD in Social and Political Science, a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology, and a degree in Social Education and Agricultural Technical Engineering. She is a member-worker at Garúa Sociedad Cooperativa, as well as a consultant, researcher, teacher and writer in the fields of political ecology, eco-feminism, eco-social transitions and education for the sustainability of life. For decades, she has been combining her work with active participation in social movements, especially the environmental movement.

Her latest publications are Toma de Tierra (2023, Caniche), Ecofeminismos. La sostenibilidad de la vida (Icaria, 2023), Educar para la sostenibilidad de la vida. Una mirada ecofeminista a la educación (2022, Octaedro), Derechos Humanos (2022, Litera), Ausencias y extravíos (2021, Ediciones Contextatarias y Libros en Acción) and Ecofeminismos para tiempos de crisis (2020, Pabellón 6).

Luci Romero

(1980, Cabra, Córdoba) is a cultural manager, writer and (ex)bookseller, with a degree in Art History, a Master's in Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage, and a Postgraduate in Literature Theory and Literary Critique (Universidad de Valencia). For nine years, she co-owned the Bartleby bookstore in Valencia.

As a poet, she is the author of the books: Autovía del Este, El diluvio (Amargord), Western (Delirio) and El tiempo de la quema (Ejemplar único). She also appears in the anthology Sais.Diecinueve poetas desde La Bella Varsovia (La Bella Varsovia). She was the co-editor of the Flechas de Atalanta booklet, which features poetry and illustrations, and in 2010, she won the La Voz+joven Award from La Casa Encendida. In 2023, she published the essay on the writing of nature or literature, El arte de contar la naturaleza.Un acercamiento a la nature writing (Barlin Libros). In 2024, she published the poetry book No sabe la semilla de qué mano ha caído from Eolas publishers.

She has featured in festivals such as Letras Verdes and Siberiana. In 2023, she received the inaugural Literature and Environment Residency from the National Center for Environmental Education (CENEAM) within the National Parks organization.

She currently lives in Valencia.

Mariana Matija

Mariana Matija es un animal que dibuja y escribe. Jorge Comensal

Writer and editor. He has published the novels Las mutaciones (2016), translated into a dozen languages, and Este vacío que hierve (2022), as well as the essay Yonquis de las letras (2017) and the biography El biólogo de la Revolución (2024). His essays, chronicles, and articles have appeared in magazines such as Gatopardo, Tierra Adentro, nexos, The Paris Review, and Revista de la Universidad de México, of which he is currently the director. He is a columnist for El País and Chilango, and is writing the history of the reintroduction of the California condor in Mexico.

Tomasz Rózycki

(Poland, 1970) 

Różycki writes poetry and fiction. He has published nine collections of verse (the most recent, Ręka pszczelarza [The Beekeeper’s Hand], appeared in 2022), epic poems and novels. He has won numerous literary prizes in Poland and abroad, including the Václav Burian Award (2017) and the Wisława Szymborska Award (2023). His collection of literary sketches, Błędna kartografia Europy [A False Cartography of Europe], won him the title “Ambassador of the New Europe”. Mira Rosenthal’s English translation of his poetry collection, Kolonie [Colonies], was shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize (2014). In 2023 he received the Grand Continent Prize for his book The Lightbulb Thieves. He is a former resident of the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Programme. His poetry has been translated into languages including Spanish, French, English, Bulgarian, German, Lithuanian, Russian, Slovenian and Ukrainian, and has appeared in many foreign anthologies and journals.

Eva Meijer

(Netherlands, 1980) 

Eva Meijer is a philosopher, visual artist, writer and singer-songwriter. They write novels, philosophical essays, academic texts, poems and columns, and their work has been translated into over twenty languages. Recurring themes are language including silence, madness, nonhuman animals, and politics. 
Their philosophical work mostly focuses on language, democracy and social justice, with special attention for nonhuman animals and nature. Meijer currently writes columns and essays for Dutch newspaper NRC.
Their first novel Het schuwste dier (Prometheus) was published in 2011. Short stories and poems have been published in Dutch and Flemish literary magazines, such as De Revisor, Tirade and De Brakke Hond. Their second novel Dagpauwoog was published in November 2013, to critical acclaim. In 2016 the book Dierentalen (Animal Languages) was published, a popular philosophical book about nonhuman animal languages and the question what language actually is. Their third novel Het vogelhuis (Bird Cottage), was published in September 2016 and chosen as one of the books of the month by DWDD book panel on national television. It won the readers' prize of the BNG Bank Literatuurprijs. Dierentalen and Het vogelhuis are translated into Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Swedish and Turkish. In 2017 De soldaat was een dolfijn was published, an essay about political animals, which won the 2018 Hypatia prize. In 2018 Meijer won the Halewijnprijs for all their books. In 2019, De grenzen van mijn taal was published, a philosophical essay about depression. Voorwaarts, a novel, was also published that year. When animals speak: Towards an interspecies democracy, an academic book, came out in November 2019 (New York University Press) and was awarded the ASCA Book Award in 2020. In 2020 their novel De nieuwe rivier was published, a magical-realist murder mystery. In 2021 Meijer wrote the essay for the Dutch Month of Philosophy: Vuurduin. Aantekeningen bij een wereld die verdwijnt. In the same year, the novella Haar vertrouwde gedaante was published. In 2022 Meijer published three books: a novel called Zee Nu, in which the North Sea floods the Netherlands, Verwar het niet met afwezigheid. Over politieke stiltes, an essay about politics and silence, and Misschien is een ander woord voor hoop. Een pleidooi voor meerstemmigheid in het politieke en publieke debat a pamflet about the public debate, and the role of language in politics. In 2023, the poetry collection Het witste woord and the novel Dagen van glas were published.

María Emilia Beyer

She is an expert in telling stories about science in exhibitions, radio, television and written media. She loves reading and writing; she is the author of nine popular science books for children and young people. She loves to design interactive exhibitions, such as Ciencia con sabor a chocolate and Mujeres inventoras. She works tirelessly to bring girls closer to science; she has been a master mentor of the New York Academy of Sciences for the international program 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures. Internationally, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) and of the Board of Directors of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) for Mexico. Since 2020 she has held the position of Director of Universum, the Science Museum of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Her favorite role in life is to be Mily's mom.

Magalí Etchebarne

Nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina, en 1983. Estudió letras en la Universidad de Buenos Aires y trabaja como editora. Publicó relatos en revistas literarias y antologías, el libro de cuentos Los mejores días (2017), toda una referencia en el cuento contemporáneo argentino, y el libro de poemas Cómo cocinar un lobo (2023), una inmensa y conmovedora propuesta en torno a la pérdida y al duelo.

Es escritora y profesora de filosofía. Isabel Zapata

Born in Mexico City in 1984. She studied Political Science at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and Philosophy at the New School for Social Research, New York. She is the author of the books Las noches son así, Alberca vacía, Una ballena es un país, In vitro, Tres animales que caben en el agua and Troika. Her work has been included in Mexican media such as the Revista de la Universidad de México, Periódico de poesía and Letras libres, among others, and in international media like World Literature Today (US) and Ancrages (Canada). In 2015, she founded, with four friends, Ediciones Antílope, which, under the slogan “we make books we would like to read,” has consolidated a catalog that spans fiction, non-fiction, poetry and essay.

Benito Taibo

(México, 1960) es escritor, periodista y entusiasta promotor de la lectura entre los jóvenes. Inició su camino en la literatura como poeta con Siete primeros poemas (1976), Vivos y suicidas (1978), Recetas para el desastre (1987) y De la función social de las gitanas (2002). Denise Phé-Funchal

(Guatemala, 1977) 

Escritora y socióloga. Ha publicado Las flores (novela, 2007), Manual del Mundo Paraíso (poesía, 2010), Buenas costumbres (cuento, 2011) Ana sonríe (novela, 2015), La habitación de la memoria (novela, 2015), Sala de estar (cuento, 2017), Nunca más el fuego - Dicen (dramaturgia, 2019),  Polvo… (cuento, 2024). 
Sus cuentos, poemas y ensayos han sido publicados en antologías en Guatemala, Argentina, Italia, Bolivia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Estados Unidos, México, España y Alemania.
Su escritura está íntimamente ligada a su trabajo como socióloga, campo en el que ha realizado investigación sobre la guerra civil guatemalteca, la memoria histórica y las violencias contra las mujeres. 
Posee una maestría en educación superior, y un máster en estudios avanzados en literatura española e hispanoamericana.

Mónica Lavín

Mónica Lavín es autora de libros de cuentos, novela y ensayo. Ha sido Premio Nacional de Literatura Gilberto Owen por el libro de cuentos Ruby Tuesday no ha muerto, Premio Narrativa de Colima por su novela Café cortado, Premio Iberoamericano de Novela Elena Poniatowska por Yo, la peor, sobre Sor Juana y su tiempo. Sus publicaciones más recientes son: la antología de cuentos ¿A qué volver? (Tusquets, 2018), las novelas Todo sobre nosotras (Planeta, 2019) y Últimos días de mis padres (Planeta, 2022). Escribió el libreto para una ópera sobre Sor Juana: La sed de los cometas, que se estrenó en septiembre de 2022. Es columnista en la sección cultural de El Universal, profesora e investigadora en la Academia de Creación Literaria de la Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México, maestra universitaria distinguida por la Universidad de Colima y miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores. 

Fanuel Hanán Díaz

Soy licenciado en letras por la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, y especialista en comunicación social. Coordiné el Departamento de Selección de Libros para Niños y Jóvenes del Banco del Libro de Venezuela, y edité la revista Parapara. 
He dictado conferencias y talleres en diferentes países latinoamericanos y en universidades de América Latina, Europa y Asia. Soy autor de libros y artículos teóricos sobre un abanico amplio de temas en literatura infantil y juvenil, con un enfoque en el ámbito latinoamericano. Además, he escrito libros para niños, especialmente en el área de no ficción, algunos de los cuales han quedado seleccionado en la lista White Ravens, en la lista de Honor de la IBBY, en el Premio Los Mejores del Banco del Libro y en el Premio Cuatrogatos. Co mi libro, No, tú, no, gané el Premio Tatoulou en Francia. 
Recibí la beca de la Internationale Jugendbibliothek en Alemania para desarrollar investigaciones sobre libros antiguos para niños; con el apoyo de la Embajada de Francia realicé una investigación sobre la obra de Julio Verne, y con el apoyo de la Embajada de Canadá publiqué un panorama de la literatura infantil canadiense contemporánea. He sido jurado de distintos premios internacionales como el Hans Christian Andersen, el Bologna Raggazi, el Catálogo Iberoamericano de Ilustración y la Bienal de Ilustración de Bratislava.  He sido profesor del máster gretel de literatura infantil y de la especialización de literatura infantil de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. 
Actualmente soy editor externo de Editorial Norma de Colombia, y soy coordinador académico del diplomado de literatura Infantil de la Universidad Metropolitana en Venezuela. Desarrollo propuestas de investigación como Independent scholar y coordino proyectos educativos en formatos multimedia para distintas instituciones. Soy miembro correspondiente de la Academia Venezolana de la Lengua.

Felipe Restrepo Pombo

Writer, editor and journalist. He has written six books that have been published in different languages. In 2017, he was selected as one of the best writers under 40 in Latin America. In 2021, he received the Premio Nacional de Periodismo Simón Bolívar in Colombia. He is the coordinator of the Premio Anagrama de Crónica and editor of the Crónica collection. He has worked with dozens of international media outlets. He has taught writing workshops in the United States, Spain, Mexico and Latin America. He is an occasional columnist for El País and Letras Libres. He was the editor of the Gatopardo magazine for six years.

Manuel Vilas

(Barbastro, 1962) is one of the most important Spanish writers of his generation. He is a poet and narrator. As a poet, he has won the Jaime Gil de Biedma and Generación del 27 awards, among others. Her fiction work began with España, followed by the novels Aire nuestro, El luminoso regalo and the books of short stories Zeta and Setecientos millones de rinocerontes. He is the author of the travel book América, Listen to me and of the novelized biography Lou Reed era español.

His novel Ordesa (2018) became a publishing phenomenon and was translated into over 20 languages and was chosen book of the year by the Babelia supplement of the El País newspaper. It also won the Femina Award, presented in France to the best foreign novel translated into French, garnering thousands of readers worldwide. 

His novel Alegría (2019) was a finalist in the Planeta Prize and has been translated into several languages, including French, German and Italian. In 2021, his novel Los besos was released. In 2022, an important anthology of his poetic work was published under the title Una sola vida.In 2023, he won the prestigious Nadal Award with the novel Nosotros, which is now its fifth edition, with translations into several European and Eastern languages, including Chinese. He collaborates with El País, La Vanguardia, Cadena SER and other media outlets.

Antonio Rivero Taravillo

Writer from Seville born in 1963 in Melilla (Spain). Author of novels whose protagonists include Octavio Paz, W. B. Yeats and James Joyce, he also writes non-fiction, travel books, biographies of Luis Cernuda, Juan Eduardo Cirlot and Álvaro Cunqueiro, and he is a literary critic and translator of many of the most important poets in English, from Shakespeare to Pound, and writers in Irish Gaelic, such as Flann O’Brien, Liam O’Flaherty and Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin. He has published seventeen books of poems, the most recent of which is Luna sin rostro (Pre-Textos). His poems have been translated into English, French, Italian, Serbian, Portuguese, Chinese and Hungarian.

He has been a bookseller and editor, and has directed magazines such as Mercurio, El Libro Andaluz and Estación Poesía. Today, he regularly collaborates with Diario de Sevilla, Jot Down, Letra Global, Letras Libres and Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos. In Mexico, his texts have appeared in the Laberinto and El Cultural supplements, and in the magazines Inundación Castálida, Luvina and UNAM's Periódico de Poesía.

The awards he has received include the Seville Book Fair, the Rafael Cansinos Assens Award for his translation of John Keats, and the Comillas Award for his biography of Luis Cernuda, which was published in two volumes by Tusquets in Spain and Mexico. He wrote prologues for La realidad y el deseo and Ocnos y Variaciones sobre tema mexicano for Alianza Editorial, and is considered one of the main scholars of the life and work of Cernuda, on whom he has published numerous works.

In 2025, his new translation of Hamlet will be published.

Ioana Pârvulescu

(Romania, 1960) 

A well-known and appreciated writer in Romania, she is a professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest, where she teaches Moderna Romanian literature and coordinates a master's degree in editing. For 18 years, she wrote a weekly chronicle in the magazine România literară (Literary Romania), and at the Publishing house Humanitas (Bucharest), she started and took care of the collection of world literature Cartea de pe noptieră (The book of the night table). Her novels have been translated into fifteen languages. In Spanish, she has been published La vida empieza el viernes (Life Begins on Friday) by Editorial Báltica (Madrid), translated by Joaquín Garrigós Bueno. In October 2024  Los inocentes,( The innocents) by Editorial Armaenia (Madrid), translated by Rafael Elias Pisot Diaz will be published.
She has twice received the European Union Prize for Literature, for the novel Life Begins on Friday (in 2013) and for the short prose A Voice (in 2018). 
Her novels in Romania are best sellers and long sellers: Life Begins on Friday (2009), Viitorul începe luni (The Future Begins on Monday)(2012), Inocenții (The Innocents)(2016), Prevestirea, (The Prophecy)(2020) and Aurul pisicii (Cat's Gold)(2024). Among her essays, the most successful have been those dedicated to everyday life: Return To The Interwar Bucharest (2003),  In the intimacy of the 19th century (2005), as well as the study of literary history Alfabetul doamnelor (The ladies' alphabet)(1999).
She has coordinated collective volumes, the most important being Și eu am trăit în comunism (I too lived under communism)(2015). She has translated authors such as Angelus Silesius, Rainer Maria Rilke, Maurice Nadeau and Milan Kundera from German and French into Romanian, as well as several albums by Astérix by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.
 

Dolores Redondo

(Donostia-San Sebastián, 1969) is the author of the Baztán Trilogy, the most important literary phenomenon in Spanish of recent times: El guardián invisible, Legado en los huesos and Ofrenda a la tormenta. The three film adaptations were successfully launched between 2017 and 2020 and are currently available on Netflix. The trilogy was followed by All this I will give to you (2016 Planeta Award), the best-selling novel to have won this award in recent years and the subject of a television series adaptation by France Télévisions.

In 2019, she returned to the Baztán universe with North face of the heart, which, together with the Baztán Trilogy, will inspire a series produced in the United States and Great Britain, a landmark in contemporary Spanish fiction. Esperando al diluvio is her latest novel, also in the process of being adapted for the screen. In 2021, Los privilegios del ángel, her first novel, was republished. Today, her works have been translated into 38 languages all over the world, and boast more than 4 million readers.

Tomasz Rózycki

(Poland, 1970) 

Różycki writes poetry and fiction. He has published nine collections of verse (the most recent, Ręka pszczelarza [The Beekeeper’s Hand], appeared in 2022), epic poems and novels. He has won numerous literary prizes in Poland and abroad, including the Václav Burian Award (2017) and the Wisława Szymborska Award (2023). His collection of literary sketches, Błędna kartografia Europy [A False Cartography of Europe], won him the title “Ambassador of the New Europe”. Mira Rosenthal’s English translation of his poetry collection, Kolonie [Colonies], was shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize (2014). In 2023 he received the Grand Continent Prize for his book The Lightbulb Thieves. He is a former resident of the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Programme. His poetry has been translated into languages including Spanish, French, English, Bulgarian, German, Lithuanian, Russian, Slovenian and Ukrainian, and has appeared in many foreign anthologies and journals.

Ana Margarida de Carvalho

(Portugal, 1969)

Nació en Lisboa, donde se licenció en derecho y ejerció el periodismo durante 25 años. Hace crítica de cine y crónica. Su novela Que importa a fúria do mar (Teorema), recibió elogios de la crítica, fue finalista de varios premios y ganó por unanimidad el Gran Premio de Novela APE/DGLAB 2013. Su segunda novela, Não se pode morar nos olhos de um gato, fue nominada al mejor libro del año por la SPA, finalista del Premio Océanos, ganadora del Premio Literario Manuel de Boaventura y, nuevamente, el Gran Premio APE/DGLAB 2016 de Romance y Novela, entrando así en el reducido grupo de autores portugueses doblemente distinguidos. Pequenos delírios domésticos (Relógio d’Água, 2017), una colección de cuentos, ganó también el Premio de Cuento y Novela Camilo Castelo Branco/APE. O gesto que fazemos para proteger a cabeça, su tercera novela, fue finalista de prestigiosos premios. En 2023 publicó un ensayo sobre la soledad, Viver só, de la Fundación Francisco Manuel dos Santos.  Tiene dos libros infantiles: A arca do É, con ilustraciones de Sérgio Marques y A barata que acordou tranformada numa gigantesca menina, con Anna Bouza da Costa (2023).  Cartografias de lugares mal situados, 10 contos de guerra, es su libro más reciente. Y diez años después de la primera edición, Que importa a fúria do mar fue reeditada por Relógio d’Água, con prólogo y epílogo, con motivo del 50 aniversario del 25 de abril.
 

Cláudia Gavinho Burrows

Es lectora del Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, IP (Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, Portugal). Licenciada en ciencias políticas y relaciones internacionales y máster en traducción por la Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas de la Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Doctoranda en didáctica de la lengua portuguesa en la misma institución. Tiene el curso de formación de profesores de portugués como lengua extranjera por la Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. Es profesora invitada de portugués lengua extranjera en la Universidad de Guadalajara. Anteriormente, se desempeñó como profesora de portugués en la Universidad de Westminster (Londres) y en la Universidad de Ain Shams (Cairo). Fue examinadora de IGCSE en Cambridge International Examinations. Antes de dedicarse a la docencia trabajó como traductora y periodista de varias revistas y periódicos portugueses e ingleses.
