Pilar Adón

(Madrid, 1971) has received the National Narrative Award, the Critics’ Award, the Francisco Umbral Book of the Year Award and the Cálamo Otra Mirada Award for her novel Of Beasts and Fowls (2024, Open Letter).

She has also published the novels Las efímeras (2015, Galaxia Gutenberg) and Las hijas de Sara (2003, Alianza), as well as the long, illustrated storybook Eterno amor (2021, Páginas de Espuma), and the collections of short stories La vida sumergida (2017, Galaxia Gutenberg), El mes más cruel (2010, Impedimenta), which earned her the FNAC New Talent award, and Viajes inocentes (2005, Páginas de Espuma), for which she won the Ojo Crítico de Narrativa Award.

She has written several books of poetry: Da dolor (2020), Las órdenes (Madrid Booksellers' Guild Book of the Year Award 2018), Mente animal (2014) and La hija del cazador (2011), all published by La Bella Varsovia.

She has translated works by Penelope Fitzgerald, John Fowles, Iris Murdoch, Edith Wharton, and others.

José María Paz Gago

(Spain, 1966)

Writer and university professor of comparative literature. He is a versatile and multidisciplinary author. An unrepentant adventurer and traveler, his life has been spent all over the world, as he has lived for many years in Europe, America and Africa, which has left a deep mark on his poetic and narrative work. The cities of Paris, Venice and Cartagena de Indias are the recurring settings of his poems and stories, from Manual para enamorar princesas (Madrid, SIAL, 2005) to Guía de lugares inexistentes (Madrid, Pigmalión , 2011), poetry collections translated into a dozen languages that have won numerous awards, or the novel Desventuras de un seductor (Free Press, 2020).

    President of Poetas sin Fronteras (2020-2022), he is currently part of the ecopoetry trend, which is present in poetry collections like Expulsión del paraíso. Poemario del Caribe (Madrid and Bogotá, Pigmalión y Pijao, 2018), winner of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer International Award; or Un mar de nombre impronunciable (Madrid, Hiperión, 2020), winner of the Claudio Rodríguez International Poetry Prize.

    He has combined his dedication to cinema, fashion and gastronomy with intense creative work in the academic and literary fields. Founder and director of the Betanzos International Film Week, now in its 21st edition, his studies have focused on the work of Cervantes and Galician writers of Castilian expression such as Emilia Pardo Bazán, Valle-Inclán or Camilo José Cela. Present in the media, he is a regular contributor to the most prestigious tribune of the press in the Hispanic field, la Tercera of the daily ABC, as well as from La Voz de Galicia and from such prestigious cultural magazines as Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos or Revista de Occidente. In this field, he has won important journalistic awards such as the Pérez Lugín, the Álvaro Cunqueiro or the City of Cáceres, and a finalist of the Julio Camba Award.

Silvia Tomasa Rivera

(México, 1955)

She's a poet. She was coordinator of the literature workshops of the Meeting and Attention Center for Women (CREA for its acronym in Spanish) and collaborator of El Nacional, Gilgamesh, La gaceta del FCE, la Jornada, Nexos, Punto de partida, ¡sábado y siempre! 
She has received several distinctions, such as the Paula de Allende Poetry Prize, UAQ (1987) for El tiempo tiene miedo; the 1988 Jaime Sabines National Poetry Prize for the book Por el camino del mar, camino de piedra; the 1991 Alfonso Reyes Poetry Prize, the 1991 National Children's Play Award , for Alex y los monstruos de la lomita, and the Carlos Pellicer National Poetry Prize for a Published Work in 1997, for Alta montaña.
 

Ezra Alcázar

(Mexico City, 1993) is a short story enthusiast, journalist, editor, cultural promoter, and reader. He studied Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at UNAM. He worked on the Creative Writing Program at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, where he is currently on the Editorial Board of its Inundación Castálida magazine. In 2018, he edited and selected the book Románov.Crónica de un final 1917-1918 for the publisher Páginas de Espuma, and in 2021 he edited the Antología de poesía mexicana del sido XIX for the 21 for 21 collection, which was given away to one hundred thousand people throughout Mexico.

He is currently a member of the management team at the Economic Culture Fund, he collaborates with several media outlets, where he discusses culture, and he spearheads the political and social analysis TV program “El Desfiladero” on Canal Once.

Legna Rodríguez Iglesias

She is an outstanding Cuban writer born in Camagüey in 1984. She lives in Miami. She is a poet, storyteller, playwright and essayist. Her literary style stands out for its versatility and depth, where she often combines absurd humor and the challenging look of everyday life. She is a recognized author with several significant awards, such as the Julio Cortázar Ibero-American Short Story Prize, 2011; the Paz Prize for Poetry, awarded by The National Poetry Series, United States, 2016;  Casa de Las Américas Prize in Theater in 2016; the Centrifugados de Poesía Joven, Spain, 2019; and the Franz Kafka Essay / Testimony, Prague, 2024. She is the author of the novels Mayonesa bien brillante (Ediciones Matanzas, 2012); Las analfabetas (Bokeh Press, 2015); and My Favorite Girlfriend Was a French Bulldog (McSweeney's Publishing, 2020). She has published several short story titles and several poetry titles. Her books have been translated into English, German, Italian and Portuguese. Her poetic anthology No creo en la poesía (Alliteration, 2022) has recently been published in English I Don't Believe in Poetry, (Alliteration, 2024).

Paloma Chen

Valencian poet, journalist and researcher. Her family is from Wenzhou. She studied Journalism at the University of Valencia, Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities at the University of Barcelona, and Philosophy at the University of Fudan (Shanghai).

She won the award Premio Nacional de Poesía Viva “L de Lírica” in 2020. She is the author of the poetry book Invocación a las mayorías silenciosas (Letraversal, 2022) and of the multilingual poetry book/app Shanshui Pixel Scenes (2023). Her poems have featured in anthologies such as Última poesía crítica.Jóvenes poetas en tiempos de colapso (Lastura, 2023) and Matria poética: una antología de poetas migrantes (La Imprenta, 2023), and been translated into English for World Literature Today, Modern Poetry in Translation and Action Books.

Minerva Reynosa

She is a poet and cultural manager. She has published the poetry books: Emötoma, La íntima de las cosas, Atardecer en los suburbios, Photograms of My Conceptual Heart, Absolutely Blind, translated by Stalina Villarreal, Mammut & Jinba-Ittai; Larga oda a la salvación de Osvaldo in co-authorship with Sergio Ernesto Ríos, iremos que te pienso entre las filas y el olfato pobre de un paisaje con borrachos o ahorcados, and Lo mejor que damos. Antología personal. She won the Regional Prize of Noreste Carmen Alardín 2006 and the National Prize of Poetry Clemencia Isaura 2020. 
She is currently collaborating with Benjamín Moreno in the textual, visual and technological experimentation project Benerva. She is an online teacher, manager of various poetry awareness projects and belongs to the National System of Art Creators.

Raquel Lanseros

(Jerez de la Frontera, 1973)

She is a poet, translator, anthologist and university professor. She is the author of the poetry books Leyendas del Promontorio, Diario de un destello, Los ojos de la niebla, Croniria, Las pequeñas espinas son pequeñas, Matria and El sol y las otras estrellas.

She has received the following awards: Premio Nacional de la Crítica and Premio Andalucía de la Crítica, the Premio Internacional de Poesía Generación del 27, the Premio Unicaja de Poesía, a second place at the Premio Adonáis, the Premio de Poesía del Tren, the Premio Antonio Machado in Baeza, the Premio de Poesía Jaén, the Premio de Literatura Ciudad de Priego and the Premio de las Letras of the Academia San Dionisio in Jerez.

She is the host and writer of the third season of the “Un país para leerlo” literary outreach program of Radio Television Española (RTVE), which received during her tenure the IRIS Award for Best Outreach Program.

She also has a PhD in Education in Language and Literature, and she has written numerous academic publications in the field of poetry, gender studies, the mainstreaming of knowledge and translation.

Francisco Antonio León Cuervo

Escritor, docente, traductor, investigador y promotor cultural jñatrjo (mazahua). 
Ha traducido a la lengua mazahua diversas leyes y convenios internacionales con instituciones como INALI, SEDESOL, CNDH, IMPI, entre otras. Ha traducido a la lengua poemas y cuentos para diversos escritores mexicanos y extranjeros. Es presidente de la agrupación Escritores Mazahuas, Director de la revista Jñatrjo / Mazahua, integrante de DUMMUIJI AC, Coordinador de literatura del Festival Sinergia, e integrante del Comité de Honor del Encuentro de Literaturas en Lenguas Originarias de América de la FIL de Guadalajara.

Autor del poemario Yo jomú nu ú'ú / Las Tierras del dolor, 2019 y del poemario B’úba ma mi jingua / B’úba desde el origen, 2021. Fue becario del Programa Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA en las ediciones 2029 y 2021. Pedro Uc Be

Pedro Uc Be es maya, nació en Buctzotz Yucatán México, es integrante de la Asamblea de Defensores del Territorio Maya Múuch’ Xíimbal. Se desempeña actualmente como profesor en la Escuela de Creación Literaria en Lengua Maya del Centro Estatal de Bellas Artes en Mérida Yucatán. Forma parte de comunidades que siguen procesos de reivindicación de la cultura y la lengua maya al generar algunos textos y audios en torno al pensamiento y creencias de las comunidades que viven vinculadas a la tierra, al agua, a la milpa, al maíz y a la naturaleza. Su propuesta literaria en su propia lengua ha sido galardonada en algunas ocasiones.    

Pol Guasch

He is the author of Napalm in the Heart (award Premi Llibres Anagrama de Novel·la 2021), which has been translated into Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, and other languages: “A world of desire and survival, after the apocalypse marked by different languages, a repression that is difficult to identify and writing as mysterious as it is beautiful” (Mariana Enríquez).

He has written the poetry books Tanta gana (Francesc Garriga Award in 2018) and La parte del fuego (López-Picó Award in 2021). In 2022, he received the award Premio Talento a bordo at the Eñe Festival in Madrid, and the award Premio 42 Revelación en catalán.

His latest novel is En las manos, el paraíso quema (Anagrama, 2024).

Paula Ilabaca

(Chile, 1979)

Es escritora, docente y editora. Licenciada en letras y magíster en educación superior. Doctoranda en estudios americanos en la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Se ha dedicado a la escritura de poesía, narrativa y pódcast, abordando temáticas feministas (poesía) y de denuncia, investigación policial y violencia criminal (novela y pódcast). Su más reciente novela es La mujer del río (Sudamericana, 2024) y fue parte del equipo de guionistas de las dos temporadas del pódcast Crimen (Emisor podcasting 2020-2021).  Es fundadora y directora de la microeditorial Castor y Pólux. Su libro La perla suelta ganó el PEN AWARDS 2023 en la categoría traducción de poesía. Ha ganado el Premio Pablo Neruda (2015), Juegos Florales (2014) y Premio a la Crítica (2010). Actualmente se dedica a la docencia universitaria y a dictar talleres literarios.

(Mexico, 1971)

He contributed additional material to the film's script Cassandro. He won the  Gilberto Owen National Literature Prize, the Juan José Arreola Prize for short fiction, the Agustín Yáñez Prize for short fiction, the Jaén Novel Prize, the Elena Poniatowska Ibero-American Novel Prize, the MacGinnis Ritchie Award, the Borchard Foundation scholarship and the Ramón López Velarde national poetry award. Irma Pineda

(México, 1974)

Escritora Binnizá, es profesora en la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, unidad 203. Estudió la licenciatura en comunicación, la maestría en ciencias de la educación y el master en cooperación internacional para el Desarrollo de los Pueblos. Escribe la columna “La Flor de la Palabra” en “La Jornada Semanal” del periódico La Jornada. Su obra traducida al inglés por Wendy Call, aparece en revistas como Poetry y Chicago Review. Es autora de varios ensayos acerca de la literatura en lenguas indígenas, la educación y los derechos de los pueblos originarios, además de publicar diversos poemarios, los más recientes son: Hablo de un corazón (Círculo de Poesía, 2024) y Nostalgia doesnt flow away like Riverwater- la nostalgia no se marcha como el agua de los ríos (trad. de Wendy Call, Deep Vellum, 2024). Ha sido profesora en el Programa Docente México Nación Multicultural de la UNAM; presidenta de Escritores en Lenguas Indígenas AC; por el periodo 2020-2022 fue integrante del Foro Permanente sobre Cuestiones Indígenas de la ONU. Actualmente es integrante del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte de México (SNCA) y continua en actividades por los derechos de los pueblos y personas indígenas.

Tribute to Irma Pineda

Hermann Bellinghausen

(Ciudad de México, 17 de mayo de 1953) es un médico, narrador, poeta y editor mexicano. Estudió medicina en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
En el campo del periodismo ha sido redactor para las revistas Solidaridad y Mundo Médico, editor para la revista Ojarasca así como colaborador para el periódico La Jornada como corresponsal en Chiapas. En 1995, ganó el Premio Nacional de Periodismo de México en la categoría al mejor reportaje, sin embargo declinó el galardón. 
En colaboración con Alberto Cortés escribió el guion para la película Ciudad de ciegos. Participó como editor (junto con Hugo Hiriart en el testimonio colectivo Pensar el 68. Nuevamente a finales de 2008 presenta la película llamada Corazón del tiempo en la cual vuelve a colaborar con Alberto Cortés haciendo el guion, la cual figuró en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara número 24 a principios del 2009.

Writer. She has published the books ¿Te duele?(V Premio de Poesía Joven Félix Grande, 2009); De paso a la ya tan (ÁRTEse quien pueda, 2013); La curva se volvió barricada (La uña rota, 2016), which she wrote thanks to a creation grant from the Student Residence and which received the National Literature Prize, in the Young Poetry category, in 2017; Amor divino (La uÑa RoTa, 2018); Pusieron debajo de mi mare un magüey (La uÑa RoTa, 2020) and Mi paese salvaje (La uÑa RoTa, 2021), which received the Prize for the Best Poetry Book of 2021 from Las Librerías Recomiendan.

In 2022, her first novel, Las vitalidades (La uÑa RoTa), was published, which will soon be translated into Italian by the publisher Cencellada.  In 2019, she developed the land art project Apparitions of a cottage in the woods thanks to a grant from the Villalar Foundation in Castile and León. As a result of this work, she wrote the book Jara Morta (La uÑa RoTa, 2023).  

This year she published La hora del abejorro (La uÑa RoTa, 2024), with which she culminates the Bella Morte trilogy, that began with Mi paese salvaje and continued with Jara Morta.

Alberto Villarreal

Originario de Monterrey, es escritor y promotor de lectura. Alberto regresa al mundo de la novela con Todo lo que no me deja olvidarte, una historia sobre crecer y amar profundamente.
