Biography
Lina Meruane is a Chilean writer and author of novels such as Póstuma, Cercada, Fruta podrida, and Sangre en el ojo, as well as the short story collection Las Infantas and the essay Viajes virales. She has also written plays, including Un lugar donde caerse muerta.
Her work has been translated into several languages and has received awards such as the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize (2012) and the Anna Seghers Prize (2011), in addition to Guggenheim and NEA fellowships. She teaches world and Latin American literature at New York University.
